1. Opening by Chairperson

The Chairperson called the meeting to order at 10:30 a.m

2. Review/Approval of Agenda

The Chairperson noted that this conference call was for one item only, that being approval of the extended roles for the NWMB offered in the new Nunavut Wildlife Act.

3. Decision on the “Extended Roles for the NWMB”

Michael d'Eça reviewed his draft letter to the Minister of Sustainable Development regarding approval of the extended roles for the NWMB under the new Wildlife Act with the Board. Michael noted that there were ongoing negotiations with the drafters on modifications to these sections.

The Board decided (Resolution 2003- 005) to approve the extended roles offered in wildlife management subject to the recommended modifications set out in the Board's letter to the Minister.

4. Meeting Adjourned

The meeting was adjourned at 11:30 a.m.

RESOLUTIONS

Resolution 2003- 005: Resolved that the NWMB accept the extended roles for the NWMB under the Nunavut Wildlife Act subject to the modifications outlined in a letter to the Minister of Sustainable Development dated March 24, 2003.
